Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Substation Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Requirements: Minimum 7 years of proven experience in high-voltage substation maintenance. Strong hands-on experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) and AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) substations. Proven knowledge and experience in maintenance of associated substation equipment, including: Transformers Circuit breakers Disconnectors / isolators Earthing systems Protection and control systems CTs and VTs/CVTs Battery and DC systems Substation auxiliary systems Good understanding of HV electrical systems, protection, testing, troubleshooting, and preventive/corrective maintenance. Experience with high-voltage equipment testing and commissioning is an advantage. Gulf experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and HV switching procedures. Ability to read and understand electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings. Relevant engineering qualification/certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Ideal Candidate: A technically strong engineer with demonstrated field experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HV GIS and AIS substations and associated equipment.
